Fashion has been shifting between two iconic eras recently: the mod, sleek ’60s and the relaxed, bohemian ’70s. Whether driven by a desire for simpler times or a craving for bold glamour, the retro trend continues to thrive. At Gucci this season, the design team blended both influences for a unique vision.

The show began with Justin Hurwitz conducting his original composition.

The runway, shaped like the signature interlocking-G logo, was set on a green carpet to mark the logo’s 50th anniversary. Soon, models appeared channeling modern-day Audrey Hepburn in mini dresses with oversized buttons or front pockets, paired with scarves wrapped around chic caps. The Studio 54 vibe also made an appearance through pieces like a shimmering disco jumpsuit with subtle logos, a burnt-orange pussy-bow dress, and a backless lamé gown. Sheer elements were woven throughout the collection, from lace-inset slip dresses to transparent beaded skirts and see-through gowns.

The color scheme was bold, with vibrant pairings like green and purple, pale pink against red, and accents of chartreuse and blue. The accessories took center stage with oversized sculptural gold necklaces, elegant box purses, and unexpected fuzzy bags and shoes. The colorful tights trend also made an appearance, providing an easy way to add a Gucci touch to any look.

Big names like Daisy Edgar-Jones, Jin, Julia Garner, Yara Shahidi, and Jessica Chastain filled the front row. The cast of White Lotus season 3, including Parker Posey and Sam Nivola, also made an appearance. However, the most memorable moment came when the design team walked out in matching green sweatshirts to take their well-deserved bows.
